Subject: QEMM386 - Help!
In the continuing saga of running QEMM386 on my new Precision 386SX
motherboard I've been able to isolate the problem to this: Whenever I lock
my comm port at 19,200 baud from a comm program inside of DESQview 2.22 and
QEMM386 4.23 my computer will lock up usually within 5 minutes. I have tried
both Telix 3.12 (the new DESQview aware version), Telix 3.11 and Qmodem 4.1
all with the same results. Yet when I run without QEMM386 at 19,200 it does
not lock up! This leads me to believe it's not a hardware problem (I hope)
but I really don't know what kind of software problem it might be since
everything works perfectly at 9600 baud. Any ideas? I'm thinking of
upgrading to DESQview 2.25 and see if that helps my problem.
Also, Are you suppossed to leave QEXT.SYS installed or not? I've tried it
with and without and it didn't seem to make any difference. The instructions
aren't clear on this.
Any suggestions at all would be appreciated since I'm really stuck at this
point in time.
Mike
